Can you name a Winery from San Rafael?

Can you name a Winery from San Rafael?

Most people can't.

Bianchi's the sluggish giant that's mostly gone out of style.

If you're real hip, maybe you've heard of Algodon, Abeja, or Iaccarini. They all make great wines btw.

Even "hipper" if you've heard of Familia Morgan Wines.

These are all great wineries, but there are Mendoza wineries that DWARF these wineries, not just in volume, but especially in recognition.

I don't think that this will last forever.

I'm not exaggerating when I say that San Rafael has the potential to be it's own Valle de Uco in the near future.

It's a gem just waiting to be found. A rowdy upstart looking to make a name for itself.

That probably sounds silly to most, but I fully believe that the quality of wines coming out of San Rafael will surprise many. Both in Argentina and the world.

This has already been happening within the Mendoza region, with our wines and others from San Rafael winning national blind tasting medals.

I believe this will continue to happen.

Why?

It's all about the dirt. Every winemaker says this I know, but it's completely true.

Alluvial soils make some of the best wine in the world. San Rafael sits in between ancient rivers with alluvial river beds. Google this, it's really fascinating.

The basic idea is that the soil is made up of a TON of sediment washed down over years.

This means...

The grapes being produced in the San Rafael area are exquisite.

Don't count San Rafael out, its wineries will be on the forefront in the coming years!

Not only will they continue producing INCREDIBLE wine, but very soon San Rafael will produce it's very own 100 point wine.

Hopefully my family's name will be on that bottle.
