San Rafael's Nine Queens of Vendimia.

Tucked in Mendoza, Argentina's southern oasis, San Rafael is vineyard country where harvest stories are part of the landscape. Mendoza holds about 86% of Argentina's Malbec and stands as the world capital of the grape - a place where sunlit rows glow gold at dusk and every vintage feels like a homecoming.

Each March, the Fiesta Nacional de la Vendimia turns Mendoza into a living celebration - floats lit for the Via Blanca, folk dancers in the Carrusel, drums and guitars echoing through the streets as grapes and gifts are tossed to cheering crowds. The night swells toward the Acto Central at the Frank Romero Day amphitheater, where fireworks cut the sky and one Reina Nacional is crowned.

Most regions never see that crown more than once. San Rafael, Argentina has earned it nine times - a record run that stretched across decades and last crowned a hometown winner in 1998.
