Vino espumoso

Vino espumoso meaning in Spanish wine

Vino espumoso means “sparkling wine” in Spanish. It describes wine with noticeable bubbles, whether the carbonation comes from traditional bottle fermentation, tank fermentation, or another allowed sparkling-wine method.

In Spanish-speaking wine regions, the term can cover categories such as Cava, traditional-method sparklers, Charmat or tank-method wines, and Argentine or other Latin American sparkling wines. It is broader than Champagne and should not be treated as a synonym for méthode champenoise.
